The purpose <br /> of this letter is to provide you with a detailed history <br /> of the situation so that together we can, hopefully, <br /> resolve the issues. <br /> I purchased the cabin from Wayne and Doris Perry in <br /> September, 1979 . At the time of purchase I was a resident <br /> of Minneapolis, Minnesota. <br /> In 1980, I decided to replace a concrete stoop with the <br /> screen porch. The porch is off to the side of the cabin <br /> and set back from the front line of the cabin a few feet. <br /> One of the contractors I contacted for bids on the porch <br /> was Ainaard Leef. I awarded the contract to Mr. Leef but, <br /> in order to have the perch completed in time for summer <br /> use, he asked if it was acceptable to me if another <br /> individual did the actual construction. After granting <br /> this request and reviewing my records, I note that the <br /> bill € kr theI rch construction was forwarded by Jeff Haug <br /> Construction (kpy enclosed) . If I recollect, there was <br /> Ane connection"between'T4r. Leef and Mr. Haug -- Mr. Haug <br /> might have been Mr. Leef's son-in-law -- but I just can't <br /> remember for certain. <br /> Since I had no prior experience owning a cabin and was not <br /> a resident of Wisconsin at the time, I relied totally on <br /> my contractors -- Mr. Leef and Mr. Haug -- to keep me in <br /> compliance with any requirements. As I indicated in my <br /> telephone conversation with you, I was unable to find any <br /> request for a variance on the porch. It has been so long <br />
