base, as the travel south for the winter. One couple uses a Webster post office box
as their permanent address as they travel frequently for work. They may be gone
4 - 6 months of the year traveling, at varying times of the year, for work (in regards
to DHS 178.11 use of campsite, not to be occupied for more than 8 continuous
months in any 12-month period). Our tenants spend money all over the area which
helps the local business and economy in the county: grocery stores, gas stations,
repair shops, bars, restaurants, hunting, fishing, boat and snowmobile licenses,
thrift stores, gift shops, etc., We offer them a beautiful park to stay in, their home
away from home, so they may enjoy the area at any time of year.
Decks and additions:
All structures have been designed to be portable, as they have been brought in
from other campgrounds. They are not permanently attached to the trailer/park
model nor are they cemented into the ground, they are sitting on blocks, there are
no footings. Jim Flannigan and Craig Conroy had been through the RV Park
numerous times and never had any issues with the decks, sheds or rooms. In fact,
they were the ones that told us that as long as they were removable and
transportable they were allowed. Sheds are purchased at Northwoods Lumber or
other local places and are brought in on a truck and placed on a lot. The 3 season
rooms: brought in and put up in a day and can be taken down in a day, in fact, one
was just taken down. It took 2 guys about 3 hours to take it down.
Our campground is on about 80 acres of land. The sites far exceed the county
ordinance of 15' apart and they are spaced anywhere from 75' to 200'+ apart
depending on the terrain. We see all these items in question at every other
campground in the area and those trailers are so closely placed, we're surprised if
some of them even meet the county guidelines for spacing.
Septic systems:
We have enclosed letters from A+ Septic and Ross Tollander Septic. These letters
state that our septic systems have been serviced, maintained and that they are
functioning properly. We are waiting on bids from Tollander Septic for
expansion/revisions to the dump station and tavern septic system. If need be, we
will contact the State for variance for the tavern system.
Things to be considered: We open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 3:00
p.m. to about 9:00 p.m. and Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 11:00 a.m. and are
open until business warrants that we close, sometimes midnight, sometimes 2:00
a.m. We are closed on Mondays. The dining room is only open on Friday and
Saturday evenings from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. The deck is only used during the summer
for occasional special events, half a dozen times during the summer.
