gutters to be used to divert rain water from the drainfield. Letter from Mr. Waltzing to the state asking
for the variance dated April 2, 2003 states, the drainfield will be fenced off and the seating capacity will
not change.
October 4t", 2005: Waltzing was granted a CUP to expand the campground to 100 "RV sites". This
expansion to 100 has not happened as of Feb 2016. No talk was made about the sizing of the sewer for
these campers, nor is any record of verifying that the conditions on which the sewer was sized for are
still valid. Today, we find no 24 hour shower and toilet facilities that were originally mentioned. Thusly,
we believe the system needs to be sized at 37.5 gallons per day design flow per campsite, making the
current system undersized, as it has been for many years. **This would be a reduction from the note
mentioned in sanitary permit # 18581 which states if no shower/toilet facilities then it needs to be sized
at 50 gallons per day per campsite.**
Violations:
Per our inspection following receipt of the CUP application we found many issues relative to the
campground. They are as follows:
• Dump station sewer is drastically undersized after 24 hour shower was removed from bar. The
current dump station is sized for 13 camp sites per DSPS 383. For 75 camp sites there should be
2813 gallons per day for a dump station and currently has 500 gallons per day. For 100 camp
sites there should be 3750 gallons per day.
o *This would be a reduction from the note mentioned in sanitary permit # 18581 which
states if no shower/toilet facilities then it needs to be sized at 50 gallons per day per
campsite.*
o State inspection dated 5/24/95 required that the bathrooms be completed to meet the
requirements for 50 camp sites.
o Letter from state dated 9/11/07 lists issues to correct. Restaurant/shower house septic
sizing, dump station construction and accurate map.
• Patio seating area built over approximately 30' of the bar's drainfield without a permit. This
structure can't be permitted as is. Adding this seating may put them over their sewer capacity.
o Restaurant service 58 seats x 33 gpd = 1914
o _ employees x 19.5 gpd =
o _ floor drains x 37.5 gpd =
o Current sizing 962 gpd. Assuming 4 employees and 2 floor drains would leave a seating
capacity of 24 people. This is all assuming there is no public shower use, which we could
not locate.
• Approximately 50 decks and additions to campers and park models without permits. Per 30-
543(b)(1)i each of these requires a permit and has size maximums. Additions are only allowed
to be screen houses, 50% of each wall must be only screens — no glass, wood, metal, etc.
Maximum size for decks and screen porches is 144 sq ft.
• Addition was constructed to maintenance shed on golf course lot with no permit in 2015.
