February 23, 2018
History of events for 7415 County Rd D
Owner:
Erickson Family Investments LLC
PO BOX 614
Webster WI, 54893
Burnett County Zoning Administration
Burnett County Government Center
7410 COUNTY ROAD K, #102
SIREN, WISCONSIN 54872
PHONE (715) 349-2138
August 25th, 2017 — Dale Beers (DB) and Shane Buchholz (SB) noticed two new steel buildings
constructed on two adjacent Erickson Family Investment properties without land use permits. DB
and SB stopped to verify setbacks were met with these structures, so that they could reach out to
the Erickson's and seek permits for the structures. Upon inspection of the setbacks for the two
steel buildings, it was apparent that an extension cord was run into the steel holding tank behind
the residence at 7415 County Rd D. This is a red flag for inspection staff, as this is quite obviously
not a legal way of supplying power to a tank alarm, nor should there be any type of pump inside
of a holding tank. Upon further inspection of the steel holding tank riser, it was noted that no
secure locking mechanisms were in place to safely hold the steel lid in place. Upon looking down
into the steel tank, it was apparent that an illegal pump was installed into the holding tank, and
attached to a corrugated plastic tubing that went off in an unknown direction. There was an
abundance of tall green grasses that did not match the surrounding landscape in the downhill
direction of the tank which would seem to indicate that the tank had been overflowing recently,
which would also seem to prompt the owners to install the pump in the first place. DB and SB
believed the pump may have been directed at the nearby mound system that served the
adjacent property at 25597 State Rd 35. Upon inspection of the mound system it was apparent
that the screw-in end caps on the mound system laterals were removed from the system thusly
allowing domestic wastewater to be sprayed out of the end of the mound any time the pump
engaged on the adjacent property's sanitary system. This, and placing a pump inside a holding
tank are both illegal actions according to WI Admin Code SPS 383 and Burnett County Code of
Ordinances Chapter 70.
August 30th, 2017 —A letter was drafted by staff and mailed along with a citation to Erickson
Family Investments LLC. Please see the attached letter for details. Deadline to resolve issues was
9/18/2017.
September 51h, 2017 — Terry Erickson came into our office and agreed to pay the fine for the
issues and obtain all necessary permits, and fix the sewer issues per Jason Towne.
September 18th, 2017 — Permit obtained for the car ports on aforementioned properties.
