10/3/2019 About Camp Croix-Camp Croix Search... o I� 7 � CAMP CROIX 1 Camp Updates Donate Join Our Mailing List Camp Croix has been a place of retreat and fellowship for youth, adults, church groups and families since 1951. The land, as it exists today, was purchased in 1968. It consists of 160 acres located on Rooney Lake in northwestern Wisconsin. The property features 2100 feet of lakeshore to enjoy swimming, boating and water activities. There are 15 tent sites, 35 rustic cabins, a main lodge, a vicar's cabin, 1 year-round cabin, a bathroom/shower facility, and an enclosed picnic shelter. The Camp operates and is available year-round, but not all facilities are available year-round. Camp Croix is in fellowship with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. The St Croix Conference of WELS churches, which is comprised of about 35 congregations, owns and operates the camp. However, hundreds of congregations and groups around Wisconsin and Minnesota support and utilize the camp. Camp Croix's purpose is to offer Christian programs in an outdoor environment with all such programs being governed by the Word of God and a spirit of love. The primary program offered by camp is Bible Camp, which currently occupies four one-week sessions in July and August. In the past, Bible Camp has occupied as many as five one-week sessions. When youth camp is not in session, the facilities are available to rent to families and other groups. We call this Family Camp. Through the years, Camp has strived to maintain some form of Sunday services for families staying at camp.
