Box 117 Webster, WI 5 893 Dear Mr. Lippert: In its paper, the Village Crier for December 1979, the Moyager Village Property &wner's Association printed your letter of November 1979 to the property owners concerning the disposal of wastes from "travel trailers located on Voyager Village lotst°. I suspect I am guilty, or partly so, in the matter about which you complain as I have drained our wastes into a small pit dug into the sand. However, I had not worried much about the matter as the soil at Voyager Village is very sandy and the wastes would readily percolate and purify. Some friends of mine, who are Civil Engineers, have estimated for me that there should be no danger past 50 feet from the point of disposal. There are no other trailer sites, home sites, or shallow wells any where near that close to the point of disposal, and, accordingly, I considered my practice safe enough. Further, such dis— posal in my case occurs only during three 7— or 8--day periods each summer. Ley conscience is clear, but apparently that would not clear or square with the "State Plumbing Code H62.201" which you quoted. Sc, I have two questions: 1. Since I do not believe I am endangering anyonets health or adversely affecting the environment, what would be the opportunity for becoming "otheririse specifically exempted" from the code requirement? 2. Do you have plans and specifications available gratis or for sale for a not too expensive septic system that I could install and that would be suitable to the limited requirements of a travel trailer? If so, please send me a set along with your bill for it. I will appreciate whatever answer you can give me regarding this matter. Thanks.
