Welland Ddlneati,oyR IElensen Town of Oak{I nJ
INTRODUCTION
A wetland delineation boundary survey was completed on Big Yellow Lrike Estates, Lot 1,
Section 29, Township 40 North, Range 16 West, Town of Oakland, Burnett County,
Wisconsin on July 05, 2014. The wetland delineation was performed to document the
existing wetland(s) and incorporate this information into future construction and or
development plans for wetland setback(s). The site location can be seen on Figure 1,
IThe scope of work involved determining the Welland boundary adjacent to the proposed
building site to establish a line from which the required setback could be measured. The
delineated wetland boundary is shown in Figure 4. During the field investigation a drainage
ditch was found within the site. The ditch flows generally from the east to west adjacent to
I the alder thicket and Jefferies Road. A portion of the storm water from the proposed building
site and driveway is directed toward this drainage ditch. Water was observed in the ditch at
the time of delineation. Water was also observed in two shallow pits (2,3) used to identify
wetland characteristics at if depth of approx. 15 inches 30 minutes after initial disturbance. It
should be noted that there was a rain event prior to the wetland delineation survey and that the
area had seen abnormally high rainfall for the year.
Martin C. Shutt completed the delineation on July 05, 2014. This report presents the methods
and findings of the delineation.
' METHODS
' Wetland Determination Resources
Wetland determinations were made using the criteria, methods and resources found in the
following manuals:
Guidelines for Submitting Welland Delineations in Wisconsin to the Corps of Engineers
(USACE, 1996)
USACE Wetland Delineation Manual(USACE, 1987)
• Wetland Plants& Plants Communities of Minnesota & Wisconsin 2n°& 3"Edition Eggers &
Reed
Wetland Delineation Plant Species Identification, Region 3-2357 Plant Species
NRCS PLANTS Data Base
• WISFLORA: WISCONSIN VASCULAR PLANT SPECIES,
wwwthotanv.wisceduhv MEota
National Resources Conservation Service,nntplmtts-usdaeov
Data Collection
Preliminary data gathering for the project was completed to compile sources of information
useful in making wetland determinations.
