April 4, 2023
Erik Wilkies is a property owner 3 mile away. He stated he is here for the quiet. Mr. Wilkies
does ride a Harley. You can hear the motocross all day long. You need 50 — 60 acres to build
something like this. The track affects the wildlife and he is opposed to this CUP.
Jeff Fagan stated he is against permitted use for this track. Family and friends no longer visit and
the wildlife is non-existent. This use affects the health, general welfare and economic prosperity.
The snowmobiles and bikes are pro-machines. They are loud and a fire risk. You need hearing
protection. These owners have no respect for the county or neighboring property owners.
Roxanne Brown-Josephs stated, according to the map, she is the closest business. She runs a nail
and spa business. They did not know about the permits but when they found out, they
immediately applied for the permit. The noise is not as bad as everyone makes it seem. They
should compromise. If it disrupts the wildlife, why would the DNR approve it? She is in support
of this.
Tanya Davies stated this request and use of the property in question is not congruent with the
area or local values. This goes against types of recreation in this area near and dear to other
people. Once these areas are lost it takes generations to regain. Do not uphold this request.
Taylor Wilkie is not opposed to dirt bikes but is opposed to the track. This is unnecessary and is
concerned about this track going commercial. This is a detriment to the environment and citizens
and is concerned about property values.
Andrew Nelson is an attorney for the Fagan family. Mr. Nelson submitted a packet to the
committee. The Fagan family objects to this and there is nothing in the ordinance that supports
this CUP. The Lambrechts should have looked at the conditions to have this track. There is no
safety plan for emergency services.
Wanda Mangelson lives across the street and her grandson cannot sleep on the weekends because
of the noise. This disrupts the hunting. They cannot use the patio in the summer time. She feels
bad for the people that bought the property for the track but she is against this.
Brad Johnson is the closest to the track. Mr. Johnson stated he is all for family enjoying their
property. His plans were to build a home on his property, but not sure now if he is going to or
not. It was quiet last summer because they got in trouble. He cannot imagine what is going to
happen on a Saturday and is opposed to this. They did not collect sap this year because of the
noise.
Milan Wilkie lives 3 mile away. She can hear the bikes going. Ms. Wilkie stated she is here to
enjoy her property and has concerns about the wildlife. There should be sound protection. The
noise is horrible and should not be in residential zone. Please deny this.
Forrest Malik has enjoyed motocross. Properties are always butting other properties. There
should be limited and scheduled times to use the track. He hopes there can be a compromise and
is looking for the best outcome.
Don Hamilton stated he supports motorized recreation and property rights. He supports
reasonable regulation. Chapter 30 governs us all. This motocross conflicts with the Town of
