September 5,2023 <br /> • Page 2 of 7 <br /> Supervisor Karen Laqua Anderson questioned if this is an addition to the storage rentals and if it <br /> would be a rental. The Town of Oakland has an issue with renting this out. <br /> Supervisor Conroy stated he would like to be able to readdress Mr. Borg if there are any further <br /> questions. <br /> Public hearing opened. <br /> Don Hamilton stated the building was built without a permit. The Town of Oakland approved the <br /> garage but not for commercial expansion. This does not meet the Town of Oakland <br /> comprehensive plan. The commercial expansion was not approved but approve the building. <br /> Deny this CUP. <br /> Public hearing closed. <br /> Supervisor Conroy questioned how they are going to know how this building is going to be used. <br /> Mr. Towne suggested making sure this building is not numbered and that way they could tell if <br /> this is personal use or commercial use. <br /> Supervisor Chuck Anderson questioned who would enforce this. <br /> Mr. Towne stated it would be Burnett County. <br /> Mr. Towne stated if they approve this, he can use it to rent out as storage unit(s) and if they deny <br /> then he can use it for personal use. <br /> Burnett County Staff Report Item — If considering approval then the following item(s) may be <br /> included in the motion; these are part of the guidelines from the staff: <br /> 1. If the committee wants to require additional screening then it should be specific <br /> with the type,height, width, location, etc. <br /> 2. Follow all sign regulations. <br /> 3. Follow all local,county, state and federal requirements for this activity. <br /> Motion to approve Conditional Use Permit#CUP-23-08—Borg to use the 24' x 24' building for <br /> a commercial use rental and to include staff recommendations was made by Supervisor Conroy, <br /> seconded by Supervisor Paden. Roll call vote: Supervisor Shimanski, no; Supervisor Blomberg, <br /> no; Supervisor Karen Laqua Anderson, no; Supervisor Chuck Anderson, no; Supervisor Paden, <br /> no; Supervisor Conroy, yes; Chairman Bickford, yes. Yes, 2; no, 5; absent, 0. Motion failed, roll <br /> call vote. <br /> This will be personal use only as building permit LUP-23-544 was issued for construction of a <br /> 24' x 24' garage.
